Our EcoSystem Pond
The idea for EcoSystem Koi came when it was time to stock our new Koi pond. Having been hobbiests for many years we, like many others have a realistic budget and expectations but we found a limited choice of quality affordable koi in the area, this was a source of real frustration so we came up with a small business plan. Growing quality domestic koi seemed like a great idea, we collaborated with the best koi farms in the country and set about building a small growing facility.
Grow on tanks
We established a couple of grow on tanks, this was great until we quickly realised that the scale needed to do this properly was out of our reach, not to mention the cost of electricity doubling almost overnight. We had to come up with a new plan.
High Quality Israeli Koi
We found an importer of high quality Israeli Koi and were immediately impressed, we decided we needed a better set up to hold the koi and allow for customers to come and view the fish. We started with 3 x 500 gallon outdoor tanks, this quicky progressed to 5 tanks.
Customer Feedback
In such a short space of time we had wonderful customers and feedback. The most requested, was koi delivery. It’s not something we had ever considered but we set about putting it into place. We partnered with a logistics company for delivery and we set about creating an e-commerce website. In our first year offering delivery we sucessfully shipped over 100 koi all over the country.
Tunnel Vision
This brings us to the new season of 2024. We wanted to create a better cusomer experience. We drew up ambitious plans to build an all in one bespoke fish house. We now have 11 dedicated tanks, all manor of foods and treatments, and of course, a wonderful selection of koi for all budgets. We would love for you to come and see us.
New Website for 2025
So onto 2025. We are family run and owned, everything is done by me and my wife and thats it. Because it is all down to us two we try our utmost to provide a service second to none. Our website proved to be a great way to reach our customers, we took all the data from the last two years and set about streamlining and building a new site to enhance the experience, we hope you like it ๐
